Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, also referred to as D-M, is a key US Air Combat Command installation, located within the city limits of Tucson, in Pima County, Arizona.
However, D-M is best known for "the Boneyard" – the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center, the long term storage facility (and, in some cases, final resting place) for excess or unused government aircraft. Most of these planes are a result of the massice build up in arms during the cold war.
