Spaces
A friend was experimenting with spaces recently and we got to talking about it so I gave it a shot. It's really cool. I don't use a lot of apps but with a laptop being my main machine the screen acreage is limited so the extra space(pun intended
) is welcomed!

Re: Spaces
It is really nice for development. Put editor in one space and full screen app in a second, ide in the third.

Re: Spaces
Spaces is like what we call a desktop manager in the UNIX/Linux world. Spaces does not have all the features of other DTMs, (like assigning windows to desktops from the title bar etc) but it's nice to CNTRL-Right from a Vista VM into a OSX screen!

Re: Spaces
Close though. Hit F8 (yours might be different and is in System Preferences:Expose/Spaces) then just drag it where you want. I don't think you can make it inhabit multiple areas though (something I did not use in UNIX)
