iTunes/Fox Digital Copy Movies

Bought the Family Guy Blue harvest DVD today. Always been a family guy fan and since I had a gift card and it was on sale...................

Works flippin' great! It came with a seperate DVD, the movie was on one dvd and the 500mb mp4 was on another. I popped it into my MackBook Pro's dvd drive and itunes immediately started and asked me if I wanted to copy it to my computer, and if so, to enter the code. I did, it took it and copied it into my library. Seems to be tied to your iTunes account, so i should be able to move it to all of the computers I have authorized on my account...

The quality is good enough for casual viewing on your PC while stuck in a hotel room (as I am now) and should be stellar on any iPod.

This also works on windows machines, but I can't comment on the process involved, i can only assume it's as easy...

I figure the motivation for this is to make it so you buy it, get it for the TV viewing and can also take it with you without having to take the disc, wherever you may go... This should reduce the number of people 'ripping' DVDs into mp4s or other files for portable use...

Overall i think it's a good idea and I'm glad to see it! First DVD I have bought since the Sopranos and honestly I only bought it because of the Digital Copy feature. Good deal!

Re: iTunes/Fox Digital Copy Movies

It is never as easy on 'doz

I think it is to stop people from ripping DVDs. This for two reasons: first to keep from realizing how easy it is on a DVD, second to keep people from realizing how much worse DRM got on the new HD types.
