That's better

My 3yr old MacBook Pro has been struggling to keep up, taking a long time even to do minor tasks. It's been over 2 years since I've done a fresh reload(typically like to do it once a year or so) so yesterday I finally got fed up and went to town. I think the main cause of the slowdowns was FileVault. Since I forgot to write down the master password() there was no chance of me restoring any data so I had to dig through my user profile and manually save out the folders that I needed. I managed to get about 99% of everything, save for a few directories out of iTunes that were stored locally and not on my external drive.

Everything is much snappier again, just as it should be. Only issue I've stumbled on so far is that iTunes doesn't want to sync the apps off of my iPhone - it wants to overwrite what's on there. I'm sure there's a solution for this somewhere out there but I haven't had a chance to research it. Any suggestions?
