Apple exploring carbon fiber as a case material

AppleInsider | Filing confirms Apple exploring carbon fiber Mac enclosures


Filing a patent for it is idiotic, however. Carbon fiber is widely used and I doubt they've discovered a new way of manufacturing it.

Interesting. I understand what they are saying, but I am also pretty sure they already did this in the early 90's with sheet graphite.

A buddy of mine works with the skunkworks folks on exactly this task...I'll ask him his $.02.
