Citrix ICA client for Mac OS X

Download it here: Citrix Systems » Software Download OS X

Getting the ICA client to work on OS X was pretty tricky from my experience. Using v7.00.407 the client had trouble accepting the SSL cert permanently. I had to manually copy the SSL cert to /applications/citrix ica client/keystore/cacerts. At that point it would launch the ICA session as it should.

I gotta admit, I was rather impressed when I found out that I could drag and drop files between my session and my laptop.

There is a newer ICA client available now for Intel based Macs. I'll probably upgrade to that shortly to see if it's any better than the current version.

Re: Citrix ICA client for OS X

Finally got around to upgrading to the new version for Intel MACs. No issues so far, it's working great. It seems to load sessions much faster than the previous version.

Re: Citrix ICA client for OS X

It's a proprietary protocol that they use for client to server communication.

How did version 10 treat you? I have some users that have macs (media types) and being able to access some PC apps via Citrix would be nice.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. Version 10 seems to work fine. I haven't had as much seat time behind it as the previous version but I have no issues to report.

Re: Citrix ICA client for Mac OS X

Ok, I've found one bug so far. I can't log into a published RDP session. If I publish a server's desktop with pass through authentication it works fine. If I try to do my own login it keeps telling me the password is incorrect. It's driving me nuts.

I can RDP from the published desktop just fine though so it's definitely an issue with the client. I suppose it could be some keyboard mapping somewhere, I haven't had time to dig around for it yet.

Re: Citrix ICA client for Mac OS X

Found the problem - it's actually the shift key that's causing it. If you need to use it for two characters or more in a row you have to let up and press it down again each time. If you hold it down it won't work the for the second character. Weird.
