iPhone prediction

OK here it is I am headed to the end of the limb

At the Developers Conference in June Apple will release a final of the iPhone SDK, the 2.0 update AND a new 3G iPhone. The rumors and events all seem to line up.

Re: iPhone prediction

Hmmm. I guess I'll wait to buy a replacement for my dinged-up 1st-gen 8GB, then.

Re: iPhone prediction

I saw the same thing on another site somewhere but can't find the link. The site said that Apple just recently acquired the iPhone trademark in Japan which does not have an EDGE network and some telecom's CEO in Spain said that it's coming the second half of this year. Supposedly there are also some new 3G chipsets hitting the market that are much better on energy consumption.

Probably has some validity.

Re: iPhone prediction

Some more rumors:

Quote:
The first thing people will notice: the 2nd gen iPhone will be about the same size and shape as the first gen.
It will, of course, have 3G. And proper GPS!
The most noticeable physical difference is back of the phone is no longer metal -- the whole thing is glossy black, from top to bottom. The volume buttons are now chrome.
Because it's got a little less metal to deal with, it doesn't have quite as many angular edges. The battery is (still) not removable.
The phone itself will be slightly thicker than the first gen device.
The headphone jack will no longer be recessed, and will finally be flush with the body.
The device itself uses roughly the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
No solid word on battery life or storage capacity.

Re: iPhone prediction

Maybe they never had a large overstock to begin with. I really don't see them introducing the new version before WWDC. In any case, anyone want to buy a 4GB?

Is that $39 + $45 Cell phone companies suck as bad as cable companies on hiding what you are paying.

Re: iPhone prediction

The $45 plan is for businesses. For personal use it's $40 + $30 so a total of $70 plus tax. The unlimited plan at $100/mo is a bargain.

Re: iPhone prediction

Now I just need to figure out the cost of loading my own apps (created by me) on the phone... $99 a year is steep.
