Why shouldn't I get an iPhone?

My time is up and I am considering getting an iPhone. My main use is as a home phone connected via bluetooth. However I use it when I go to the track and as an emergency phone while riding my motorcycle in the remote areas (thankfully not yet). The ability to access the web for weather radar would be nice. So what are the downsides? Is 8GB enough? I have a 160GB iPod so cannot see it being use much as an iPod.

The downside is the Edge. Works great as a phone but the Edge can be frustrating. You may also want to check your home Bluetooth device for compatibility. I only have the 4GB and that's the least of my issues.

Now download the SDK and write me some software for it.

I am dragging a hoof hard waiting for the SDK (and details on how/if you can write your own apps) but my Motorola keeps giving me a "Insert SIM" message. On reinserting it everything is fine for a few minutes then back to error. I am hoping it is just a bad SIM but if not this is my only phone so Currently it is mostly unusable, Monday I will go see if it is the card or phone.

Probably the SIM card. They do go bad. I've had to have several replaced over the years.
