Anyone buy one?

Been digging around on the web - so far most people seem pleased with the interface.

Some existing AT&T customers are having trouble with activation.

Some people find the data side of it sluggish - which can be expected since it's not 3G.

I may swing by a store tomorrow to see if I can try one out.

Re: Anyone buy one?

Nope...won't buy one until they lose the AT&T exclusive deal. Verizon is the only carrier worth a crap where I live.

Re: Anyone buy one?

I haven't had a chance to swing by a store yet - probably not going to either. I got some going away money from my party yesterday and I wouldn't want to spend it in a foolish manner

Well I couldn't resist - there was an AT&T store next to where I ate lunch today and I went and fondled it for a while. I'm very impressed with the interface, it works remarkably well. It's not a business phone - more of a gadget with some business functions. I'll be buying one soon...

Re: Anyone buy one?

Well, I plunked down the cash and bought one. I was holding off because it can't do over the air exchange sync. Well, with my new job that's not really a problem because they don't support it anyway.

I have had it for all of 4 days. It works really well, just as advertised. I will have to post some more in-depth reviews once I have banged on it for a while.

Re: Anyone buy one?

Cool. I spent some more time looking at one this week at the AT&T store. How's call clarity and actual battery life so far?

Re: Anyone buy one?

Call clarity is excellent, same as the 8525 it replaced. Battery life has been outstanding. Even with me showing it off to everyone, really hammering the data use over Wi-Fi, etc... it holds a charge from 5 AM when I get up until 11 or so at night when I am hitting the rack each night.

Re: Anyone buy one?

Do you use bluetooth at all?

I was figuring the clarity would be ok. AT&T has all the other networks beat hands down on that.

I use the Bluetooth in the LR3 every once in a while, but I haven't even paired the car to the phone.

Other than that, no. I use it with a bunch of other stuff, but not the phone.

Re: Anyone buy one?

The EFF is generally legit but without the details of the trigger it is dubious at best. For example if you need to log in vs make a call to the handset. Further if the functionality is known the odds of being able to disable it goes up a long way.
