| Now with navydevildoc Goodness! Hi all, I'm NavyDevilDoc. I have been using Macs and *nix for a Long Time Now. My Mac fetish started with the first 128k Mac. Since then I have owned: Mac 128k Mac SE/30 Mac IIci (still have it!) Performa 600 (a.k.a. Mac IIvx - what a dog) UMAX U500 Clone eMac G5 Quad-Core (still have) MacMini PPC (still have) MacBook Pro (still have) Other machines here in the office: Big ass home-built Pentium D - Vista / Ubuntu / Solaris x86 / Darwin x86 Sun Sparc IPX - RedHat Linux Home-built Celeron running MythTV Beat up Pentium II server A crapton of networking and crypto gear My first brush with Unix was SunOS in 1992... then Slackware Linux in 1994, FreeBSD in 1995, AIX in 1996, and HP-UX in 2001. I was ecstatic when I heard the new MacOS was going to be NEXTStep with a FreeBSD core. I have been running it for a long time now, and more often than not there is a terminal open with a Darwin prompt on it. That's about everything I can think of for now... got a question? Just Ask! |
